Hobby | Lost Tombs of Hakir Terrain (Spooktober)

In what is perhaps the quickest turnaround for miniatures for me, I received my Reaper Miniatures Bones 6 Kickstarter a few days ago, and then managed to paint all of the terrain in the Lost Tombs of Hakir expansion box. This is a desert themed expansion, more specifically Egyptian, more specifically a fantasy Egypt. It comes with lots of Egypt themed enemies, NPCs, and heroes. What I was really here for was the terrain, as I thought it would make a nice addition to my collection (hehe).

Paint Recipe | When you watch the new Castlevania show on Netflix (Spooktober)

Before we get started, a disclaimer: I have never actually played Castlevania. My knowledge and enjoyment of the setting starts and ends with the Netflix Castlevania show, of which there are now two. The original featuring Trevor Belmont and had four seasons, and the latest series featuring Richter Belmont. I quite like both shows, so when it came time to paint a Vampire Lord for the Soulblight Gravelords, I took some loose inspiration from the show.

Hobby | Murkillor the Wraith King (Spooktober/Apocalypse Me)

Spooktober keeps on giving, and we are firmly back in fantasy land (sorry space) with another creature meant for the apocalyptic fantasy scape of Verrotwood (or Dungeons & Dragons, it works there too). This is a figure from Reaper Miniatures, which was available in their Bones V Kickstarter. The official name is Murkillor the Wraith King, but I intend to use him as a ghostly entity that inhabits dark ruins within the Verrotwood.

Hobby | A Wendigo for Verrotwood (Spooktober/Apocalypse Me 2023)

You may think with all of the Star Wars recently that I have forgotten about the fantasy side of things. As with many things in life, it's seasonal. And speaking of seasons, we are entering that most wonderful time of the year. No, not you Christmas. Fall. The cooling temperatures, the falling leaves, the mysterious, concerning creatures hiding in the woods....

Hobby | Knight of Shrouds (Spooktober)

Before the month completely closes out, I had to get a Spooktober post out, as is tradition. I haven't done much in the way of mini painting recently, as I've been focused on terrain, but I managed to get this one finished. In my army, this model serves as a Knight of Shrouds. In reality, this is a limited edition Bladegheist Revenant named Garkorr.

Narrative: Court of the White Lady, Lore and Rules for Play (Spooktober)

The grand finale to this year's Spooktober event is here, and much like last year, I'll be covering the lore of one of my Age of Sigmar armies. This is now the third part in the series, which has thus far covered the kingdoms of Heldenmarch and Ravenmarch.

Ravenmarch, the progenitor to Heldenmarch in the Silverlight Realm, is now a cursed land in conflict with the lands of the living. However, the country is not a monolithic entity, and there are conflicts and wars, even amongst the dead. This post will dive into the history, conflicts, and even rules for brining the foremost of these factions to life on the tabletop: The Court of the White Lady.

Tutorial: Upgrading the Reaper Miniatures Encounter at Gallowgard (Spooktober)

Get your spooky brushes and clippers, and welcome to the second annual Spooktober event! Like last year, I'll be focusing on miniatures and terrain that fit in well with my death armies in celebration of Halloween, one of the funnest times of the year and (in my opinion) the gateway to the holiday season. In the third post of the event, I'm posting a tutorial of even more terrain in a similar vein to last week's build.

Hobby Table: Shadows of Ravenhome (Reaper Miniatures Bones V) (Spooktober)

Get your spooky brushes and clippers, and welcome to the second annual Spooktober event! Like last year, I'll be focusing on miniatures and terrain that fit in well with my death armies in celebration of Halloween, one of the funnest times of the year and (in my opinion) the gateway to the holiday season. In the second post of the event, I've created terrain to match my homebrew lore: the ruins of Ravenmarch.

Hobby Table: Floaty Queen Ghost AKA Lady Olynder (Spooktober) (Update)

Get your spooky brushes and clippers, and welcome to the second annual Spooktober event! Like last year, I'll be focusing on miniatures and terrain that fit in well with my death armies in celebration of Halloween, one of the funnest times of the year and (in my opinion) the gateway to the holiday season. With that out of the way, I'd like to open up this year's Spooktober with none other than Lady Olynder herself!

Narrative: The Tragedy of Old Ravenmarch, Lore and Rules for Play (Spooktober)

The grand finale to the Spooktober event is here, and is it a big one. This is the second part of a series diving into the lore of one of my Age of Sigmar armies.

Ravenmarch, the progenitor to Heldenmarch in the Silverlight Realm, is now a cursed land, and this post will dive into its history, conflicts, and even rules for brining Ravenmarch to life on the tabletop.

Hobby Table: Nighthaunt and Legions of Nagash Heroes plus Terrain (Spooktober)

With only two Friday's left in October, we are approaching the finale of Spooktober. Before we can get there, I wanted to show off of a few of the miniatures that have been completed as they await a diorama photo shoot. I had a bit of time and was able to complete the finishing touches on a few Nighthaunt heroes, then I got some new brushes and excitedly spent a lot of time painting a vampire. Then I threw some hay bales into the mix to spice things up.

Tutorial: How to Make Cemetery Scatter Terrain (Spooktober)

Hello and welcome back to Spooktober! Today I will cover the process of how I made some easy cemetery terrain. This is a great way to make use of all the great bits in the Sigmarite Mausoleum/Garden of Morr kit, getting you extra value for your money.

Tutorial: How to Make Pumpkin Patch Scatter Terrain (Spooktober)

Welcome back to the second post in the Spooktober series! In this article, I will cover how I made a pumpkin patch for my Age of Sigmar games. Really this terrain piece would work fine in any medieval or historical setting, so even if you don't play Warhammer you'll get some good use out of this.

Tutorial: How to Make Homemade Texture Paint on Ravenmarch Skeletons (Spooktober)

Welcome to the first in the Spooktober series! To celebrate the month of October and the lead up to Halloween, I decided to make the next few posts centered around my Grand Alliance: Death armies, Legions of Nagash and Nighthaunt. This is the Space Dinosaur Minis' first seasonal event, and I'm looking forward to how it goes.

The first Spooktober post is a tutorial on how I make texture paste for my Ravenmarch bases. I used to use Games Workshop texture paints, but seeing as I don't want to either spend the time to go to the store or spend the money, I decided to try my hand at making it at home.
